About First Presbyterian Church
For over 150 years, First Presbyterian Church has embodied a heart for the city, putting faith into action as a social innovator in downtown Dallas. Founded in 1856, one day after Dallas was incorporated as a city, First Presbyterian Church has been a foundation of the downtown faith community throughout its history. FPC supports many missions within Dallas and founded the Stewpot in 1975, a separate charitable organization which provides services to homeless Dallas residents, serving more than 1,500 meals a day at the Bridge, providing social-work services, a dental clinic, and job training, among many other efforts aimed at transforming the lives of more than 18,000 Dallas homeless residents annually.
