May 20: Pedal Power Bike-a-Thon

The 2012 Confirmation Class is hosting a Bike-A-Thon for all ages on Sunday, May 20, starting at 3 p.m. at White Rock Lake. This is not a race. Ride at your own pace.

Adults: $7.00, 12 and under: $5.00. All proceeds will benefit pedal power, a charity that improves access to transportation for the poor.

You may also bring bicycles to donate that afternoon.

May 20: Arts & Letters Live with Alan Lightman

Coming May 20--Alan Lightman, author of Einstein's Dreams and Mr

FPC is honored to host a Dallas Museum Arts and Letters Live presentation by Alan Lightman at 7:30 pm on Sunday, May 20. Dr. Lightman is a theoretical physicist and novelist who has served on the faculties of Harvard and MIT. His latest work, Mr G, is a creative and playful account of the Creation as told by God. The Dallas Museum of Art is offering FPC members a discounted ticket price of $15/person for this event. Please contact bonniee@firstpresdallas.org for details.

Dr. Bill Greenway, Associate Professor of Philosophical Theology at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, will give a presentation at 9:40 am that morning in the Chapel relating to faith and cosmology. He will also facilitate a book discussion on Mr g during lunch that day.
